Designer, Project Lead
Overview:
Navigating the Brandywine River Museum of Art’s campus can be unintuitive, especially for first-time visitors. In response to consistent feedback and survey data, I led a project to improve outdoor wayfinding through strategic signage.
Approach:
Working with a cross-departmental team, I assessed key problem areas and proposed a plan for new signage to clarify entrance paths and reinforce the Brandywine’s visual identity. The signs were designed to be ADA-compliant, easy to read, and visually unobtrusive—blending into the Museum’s natural landscape while improving navigation. I collaborated directly with fabricators to oversee production and installation.
Impact:
Visitor confusion decreased significantly following installation. The updated signage made the main entrance easier to identify and helped unify the visitor experience. The prominent logo sign at the front gate even became a popular photo opportunity, strengthening brand visibility.
