Overview:
In 2020, the Brandywine River Museum of Art commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment to the US Constitution with the spectacular exhibition, "Votes for Women: A Visual History." This companion website to the exhibition highlighted video tours led by the curator and presented the extensive research done for the exhibition.
Approach:
The exhibition opened in February 2020 but was soon forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On a short timeline, I worked with a small team at the Museum to create this virtual experience for the exhibition to continue to engage our audience at home.
Impact:
The microsite was a popular online resource during the COVID-19 lockdown and continues to be used today. It's been enjoyed by more than 3,700 people from all around the globe. The engagement metrics were high with average viewing times at nearly 4 minutes and bounce rates below 40%. It was also well received by the Brandywine staff, trustees, and exhibition funders.
