Interpretive Trail Signs

Producer, Designer
Overview:
To help activate and interpret the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art’s 15-acre campus, I created a series of outdoor signs highlighting key ecological features. The signage focused on points of interest such as rain gardens, monarch migration habitats, and riparian buffers, others identified buildings and helped with wayfinding.
Approach:
I collaborated across departments to determine content, placement, and goals for the signage, focusing on engaging visitors and encouraging exploration of the full campus. Our team developed a cohesive system of ADA-compliant signs that balanced clarity and visual appeal while being able to withstand outdoor conditions year-round.
Impact:
The interpretive signs added a new dimension to the visitor experience, encouraging exploration beyond the museum walls and deepening connections to the Conservancy’s environmental mission. They received enthusiastic feedback from guests and, due to their popularity, additional signs have been added to the campus over time.
